En Chicas muertas (2014) –texto anterior al movimiento #NiUnaMenos– Selva Almada narra los femicidios impunes de tres jóvenes de diferentes localidades del interior argentino durante los años ochenta, reiniciado el período democrático, luego de la última dictadura militar. La cronista apela al registro de la no ficción para presentar el marco contextual sociopolítico y mediático en el que se ejecutaron las muertes de Andrea Danne (Entre Ríos), María Luisa Quevedo (Chaco) y Sara Mundín (Córdoba). Con el fin de relatar estos casos particulares en el marco de la necroliteratura, y a través de una “poética de la desapropiación” de acuerdo a Cristina Rivera Garza, Almada pone al descubierto, en clave de archivo abierto, el creciente número de crímenes con motivación de género ocurridos hasta la actualidad.
