Overview
The Siberian roe deer (Capreolus pygargus) is a common ungulate species, and its habitat and dietary selection strategies play an important role in its growth and reproduction. Recently, investigating habitat and food resource selection patterns of wildlife within a three-dimensional spatial structure is a frontier topic in ecology, offering significant scientific value for fine-scale conservation and management. From October 2023 to April 2024, this study utilized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) LiDAR technology to acquire vertical and horizontal forest structure information, monitoried the spatial distribution of Siberian roe deer was monitored using infrared cameras, and ground-based vegetation sampling was conducted to investigate the distribution of food resources accessible to Siberian roe deer across different seasons. By quantifying the nutritional spatial distribution for Siberian roe deer, generalized additive models (GAM) were employed to analyze how habitat selection in different seasons was influen
