Overview
Glenn D. Lowry's defense of the Brooklyn Museum of Art's \"Sensation\" exhibition (\"The Art That Dares,\" Op-Ed, Oct. 13) was disheartening. \"Sensation\" demonstrates that contemporary art has become a tired parody of itself. The works on display are the esthetic equivalent of the self-mutilation practiced by disturbed teen-agers -- more pathetic than shocking.
