Overview
As the old New York frontier our author treats the region of the Susquehanna, of its bead waters and its affluents. He accepts the statement in a letter to the Council of Safety from the inhabitants of Harpersfield in 1777, that they and the neighboring settlements were \"the entire frontier of the State,\" and that there was \"not a man on the outside of us but such as have taken protection of Brant.\"
