Caricatures by Lyser of Beethoven, Paganini, Hoffmann, and Lyser himself from 1833, sold at Sotheby's auction (October 16-17, 2012) Page from a contemporary manuscript score of the String Quartets, Opus 18, nos. 1, 2, and 5 in the hand of Ferdinand Piringer, sold at Sotheby's auction (November 28, 2012) In November 2012, Sotheby's, London, auctioned off some of the holdings from the family of the legendary conductor Arturo Tòscanini, who owned two Beethoven manuscripts. Sale amounts in this report include the buyer's premium, with approximate conversions to dollar amounts based on exchange rates listed by the auction houses on the date of sale.
