Overview
Abstract Detailed analysis, both in stylistic as well as typological terms, of a range of architectural and sculptural materials, most of which have been displaced, has confirmed their funerary nature and their possible link to different funerary forms within the varieties most commonly found in the Roman world: «aedicula», altars with «pulvini» or altars with garland. Based on this evidence, an overall view is traced of the process of monumentalization of the necropolises in the area. En el interior de cuatro de estos recintos se aprecia claramente el contorno de una estructura arquitectónica, cuadrada en tres de ellos y rectangular en el otro, de unos 10 m de lado, que pudiera corresponder al monumento principal, ocupando en todos los casos una posición similar, al fondo (Olmo 2001: 7-8).
