Overview
ISO 9000 is one of the most popular standards the International Organization for Standardization has ever published. TC-176 is the ISO's Technical Committee that is actively working on revising the ISO 9000 international quality-assurance standard for publication in the year 2000. Not everyone is pleased with the direction TC-176 is taking. A few ways to think of the ISO 9000 setup as a basis to improve internal communication and meet the year 2000 revisions include: 1. ISO 9000 as an interpersonal communication tool, 2. ISO 9000 as a team-building tool for information flow, 3. ISO 9000 as an information-sharing tool, 4. ISO 9000 as a basis for monitoring information flow, 5. ISO 9000 as a training tool for information-management skills, and 6. ISO 9000 as a basis for continued information management.
