Overview
Zamudio talks about the reform of the fiscal rule in Colombia. Since the promulgation of the 1991 Constitution, public spending has increased, leading to a notable fiscal deficit in the 1990s. In response, the government implemented reforms and measures to address the situation. One of these measures was the signing of a macroeconomic adjustment agreement with the International Monetary Fund in 1999, which led to the formulation of the Medium-Term Fiscal Framework and the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework.
