Overview
Šiuolaikinis cirkas yra pakankamai jaunas reiškinys palyginti su kitais profesionaliais scenos menais. Prancūzijoje kilus naujojo cirko bangai, gana greitai ėmė formuotis šiuolaikinio cirko kultūra ir globaliai. Šiuolaikinis cirkas Baltijos šalyse ilgą laiką buvo pristatomas tik tarptautinių festivalių metu, tačiau pastaraisias metais autorinės kūrybos regione daugėja, žanro auditorija plečiasi. Šiuolaikiniame cirke atsisakoma tradiciniam būdingos estetikos ir pasirodymų struktūros. Jis kuria turinį ir veiksmo liniją, kurią galima interpretuoti, pasižymi įvairialype dramaturgine medžiaga. Straipsnio tikslas yra išsiaiškinti šiuolaikinio cirko sampratą ir ištirti žanrui būdingą estetiką.
