Overview
In the constitution of urban imaginary, city and body communicate, transmit messages and play an important role. In this article, we study the body that appears as one of the images of a city. When doing this exercise by examining a series of postcards from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, we try to break with the naturalization this body, the way it is shown and where it appears. Starting from a semiological and an anthropological perspective, we use a qualitative methodology to analyze photographic images reproduced on postcards and the social reality that they (re)construct.
