Overview
What now is being described as the worst natural disaster to strike the Garden State in modern history first greeted the resident of Oxford Avenue in Plainfield with what she described as a massive fallen tree that essentially destroyed a Dodge Vantage, a Honda Accord and a Jeep Cherokee on her street. Mayor Lee Honecker of Bernardsville, one of the northern Somerset County towns hard hit by downed trees and pwoer lines, said in his message to everyone in Bernardsville on Friday evening that he has been in daily touch with JCP&L representatives and that he has repeatedly expressed his concerns that they would not meet the Nov. 10 target, but he said JCP&L has continually assured him they will meet it.
