Overview
John James O'Neill Jr., 36, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He will be credited for the 120 days he already spent in jail pending resolution of his case. Police found O'Neill covered in blood near Tuscawilla Park, arrested him, and transported him to the Ocala Police Department. In a recorded interview with police, the victim said she left a local Bi-Rite store when O'Neill called out to her asking her for a cigarette. The victim told police when she handed him the cigarette he then started to cut her neck.
