Overview
\"It's so exciting to be talking about budget and money, but it's all money that's going into your pocket to help you with things that you need, whether it's to save for school or helping your family,\" Ms. [Kate D. Campanale] said during her remarks. \"In the previous two budgets, I offered and sponsored two amendments, both to increase the 'youth at risk' jobs from $9 million to $10.5 million and, last year, from $9 million to $11.5 million, so we will be happy to continue that support as well.\" \"There are a lot of cuts,\" Mr. [Moses S. Dixon] said. \"One of the ways we can address the cuts in terms of youth funding is supporting the fair share amendment, which I support. And, I think, it's important also to know where each candidate stands on this issue.\" \"I don't think we can tax ourselves into prosperity on the backs of any American,\" Ms. Campanale said. \"Proponents like to say that the money will go to schools, but as a member of the Legislature and someone who has read the text of the bill, I can tell you that there is a well-used legal loophole built into the bill that will allow this money to be diverted from its intended purposes.\"
