Overview
It's not Borat, but Reno 911!: Miami shares with the comic milestone from Sacha Baron Cohen a comic formula based on inappropriate behaviour. For the Kazakhstani newsman, the maladroit moments had a cultural context -- after all, Borat didn't come from \"here.\" The men and women of the Reno sheriff's department don't have that excuse. They're all American citizens, which means the only rationale for their bad behaviour is stupidity -- and in Reno 911!: Miami, the ragtag group of law-enforcement officers are intellectually duller than a pair of plastic scissors. To [Robert Ben Garant]'s credit, Reno 911!: Miami may feel like a long version of the TV show, but there is enough material to carry a whole feature film -- thanks in large part to [Jim Dangle]'s short shorts and Trudy Wiegel (Kerri Kenney-Silver), a woman who wears underwear under her swimsuit and dreams of getting it on with Dangle.
