Overview
Rob Hurst most recently graced a local stage in December's \"A Christmas Carol\" on the Lied Center boards. Now, those who saw his Scrooge someday may be able to say, \"I knew him when ...\" Hurst will attempt to wow the judges with two pieces - a scene from the comedic \"Your Mother's Butt,\" which he will perform with stage partner Jeff Luby, and a monologue from \"The Man Who Couldn't Dance.\" Hurst performed both pieces in the regional competition. The three vignettes in \"Three by Ives,\" which is taken from David Ives' \"All in the Timing,\" include \"Speed the Play,\" a take-off on several David Mamet scripts that takes place in a fast, furious seven minutes; \"Sure Thing,\" and encounter between Betty and Bill; and \"Foreplay, or the Art of the Fugue,\" a miniature golf date turned into a metaphor for sex.
