\"I think it's real important for these guys,\" Husker pitching coach Rob Childress said of getting some mid-week innings for the first time this season. \"You look down our staff, we've only got four guys that have thrown more than 10 innings on the year, so getting these guys some work and letting them compete is extremely important. I hate for them to have to throw a bullpen on Tuesday and expect them to go be successful on the weekend.\" \"His stuff's the best we got. It's just command (that is the problem),\" Childress said. \"In the bullpens he's fine, it's just being out there between the lines and doing it when it counts. And he was sharp today.\" \"I had pretty good command, better than I thought it would be, but I've still got a ways to go,\" he said. \"Conditioning-wise, I think I'm all right, but my arm has got to build back up a little bit.\"
