Overview
Change is in line for Linear Technologys semiconductor plant in Camas with the retirement of longtime manager [Victor Liang] in August. Liang has managed the Milpitas-based companys Camas plant since it opened in 1996, producing processed wafers for use in the companys integrated circuits, which are manufactured in Malaysia and Singapore. He guided the facility through two major industry downturns the dot.com bust in 2001 and now a recession that sent global semiconductor sales down 20 percent in the second quarter from a year ago. ([Rob Barber]) has had a very positive impact on the morale and culture here, said Jim Lucey, controller of Linears Camas plant, and I think were all looking forward to working with Rob to keep this plant successful.
