Overview
For most of her first three seasons at UConn, [Kate Foley] watched from the bench. There was plenty of soul searching. It was not easy. Still, what kept coming back to her was the bigger picture, and that she was no quitter. Foley has concentrated on school, earning the Babbidge Award for 4.0 grade-point averages in both semesters of 2000. She began as a molecular and cell biology major and is now in the school of pharmacy. Foley was recently selected an academic All-American with a 3.979 GPA. When practice began for the fall, coach Len Tsantiris saw a different player. He teamed Foley with Montacer in the middle and they have helped UConn to 11 shutouts.
