Overview
ASHBURNHAM - Trooper Leonard Crossman chuckled as he pointed to the display case in the lobby of John R. Briggs Elementary School. It was crammed with stuffed animals. \"That's my cruiser,\" he said to State Police Sgt. Gene Jackson, who was taking pictures. Students designed and built a cardboard police cruiser to hold the stuffed animals. Crossman serves as Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer for the school. He, Jackson, State Police Lt. Robert Murphy and Trooper Johanna Lawlor were at the school yesterday to collect 301 new or slightly used stuffed animals donated by students. The officers will hand out the toys to comfort children at accident scenes.
