Overview
The only people at Town Hall Tuesday were Amy O'Dell, Armando Rodriguez, Ms. O'Dell's 10-year-old nephew, Adam O'Dell, and Town Manager Peter Jankowski. Mr. Jankowski said the nonstop snow this winter reminds him of the weather in Gray, Maine, the community he left this year to accept the town manager job in Athol. He said his wife called from Maine this morning to tell him she was getting plowed out from the lesser but still significant snowfall people experienced there. Sgt. [Kevin Heath] said the 12-hour shifts would end at 11 if the snow subsided or the forecast was for a normal type of snowstorm. He said the reason for the long shifts was to ensure enough officers were available to handle any of the emergencies normally seen in blizzards. He said the main concern was the power going out.
