La MaMama herself, Ellen Stewart, directs \"Yunus,\" a folk opera based on the life of the 13th-Century Sufi poet Yunus Emre. It was created in Istanbul to commemorate the 750th anniversary of his birth and is now receiving its American debut at La MaMa's Annex Theater, 74A E. Fourth St. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays and also at 3 p.m. Sundays; tickets are $15.
