Overview
[Linda Harel] says: Every shaggy-haired young hipster in the city seemed to be crammed onto the main floor of The Delancey, socializing over loud indie music, on Saturday night. I wouldn't recommend it for the agoraphobic, but if you don't mind being smooshed against the people you're with, it's a fun place to get your weekly dose of mingling done. And if you have $10 to spare, the weather is nice and you don't mind pushing through people to get to the stairs, wait in line to get up to the roof garden, where you can drink among palm trees and goldfish. Wow! The Delancey is my new favorite lower- Manhattan spot. Great vibe, fun music, cool people and a fabulous view. A convergence of village hipsters, casual drinkers and Manhattan party hoppers makes this crowd a lot of fun. The view from the rooftop is worth the squeeze - and if there is good weather, you will never want to leave. The music varies as much as the fashion palette. You can really wear whatever you want, and you will hear a variety of sounds, from the DJ to the live music. Go there after work for a drink with friends and co-workers - the club opens at 5 p.m. Or hit up the bar after hours, 'cause it's open until 4 a.m.
