The match was billed as a battle between Virginia's offense and North Carolina's staunch defense, but the Tar Heels never allowed the visitors to get in gear before 4,800 fans. The Tar Heels can win the Atlantic Coast Conference title by beating Duke (8-3, 0-2 in the ACC) next Saturday. \"They stymied us with aggressive team defense,\" said Cavaliers attackman Doug Amacher, who had a goal. \"They packed it in so we couldn't go one-on-one and then [Barney Aburn] was scooping up everything.\"
