Overview
NAMES AND faces in this fall's campaign for Passaic County sheriff are familiar to county voters. The same names and faces were in the spotlight three years ago, when incumbent Richard Berdnik, a Democrat, squared off against Republican Frank Feenan. The only new wrinkle this time is the entrance of a third candidate. Political newcomer Darren Woolridge, a former sheriff's officer, is running as an independent. Certainly, in the race for sheriff, experience is not an issue. Berdnik and Feenan are both veterans in various capacities of law enforcement. Berdnik served nearly three decades with the Clifton Police Department before becoming sheriff, while Feenan, of Woodland Park, served about the same amount of time in the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
