She said: 'I think they feel quite an onus on them to look after [Gaynor] really because she is not a very strong person and she always needs looking after, and now she hasn't got Robin to lean on, she needs my sons to help her.' Mrs Cook added: 'I'm fine in that I didn't really have much personal involvement with Robin any more. 'Robin's a great loss not only to his family but indeed to the Labour Party and to politics at home and abroad.' Former Culture Secretary Chris Smith said: 'His loss is a shocking devastation, a real tragedy for Parliament and public life as a whole. Robin's contribution was immense.
