Overview
It would take two months of exhaustive investigative work by Det Sgt Graham Sproson, and Det Con's Inderjit Basra and John Balkhan before ringleader David Dharna was arrested. A search of the suspects' mobile phones showed calls between Dharna and a third man were made on the days before and after the offence. Dharna also called [Martin Prenga] and his number was installed on [Rifat Brahimi]'s phone. Dharna, of Thornhill Road, Handsworth, was last month jailed for seven years while Brahimi and Prenga, both of Richmond Hill, Smethwick, each received five years.
