Overview
The Circle line was suspended and the Metropolitan line stopped short at Baker Street. The two lines are used by more than 620,000 passengers a day. A large part of the Hammersmith and City line was also suspended. All services were halted between Baker Street and Aldgate and Aldgate East via King's Cross. The problems on the Circle line continued throughout the day with many stations broadcasting announcements to passengers that they should use other routes where possible. A recent report revealed that signal and track failures are the biggest single cause of delays on the Tube. LU recently had its worse day on record when hundreds of thousands of commuters were caught up in delays on 23 October - dubbed \"black Tuesday\". LONDON Underground is facing a huge fine over the death of a security guard from carbon monoxide poisoning. Olatunji Owolabi, 59, was overcome by fumes from a petrol engine generator while guarding a power substation owned by LU, writes Mark Benham.
