Overview
[Cynthia Rylant], who grew up in Raleigh County, almost never allows interviews. But she made an exception for \"In Their Own Country,\" a 14-week program that features West Virginia authors and their words and which is running every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. through mid- December. Schoolchildren know Rylant as the author of warm, funny picture books and several novels, including \"Missing May.\" But she has written more than 100 books for both children and adults. Listeners to Tuesday's show will hear Rylant read four of her most popular books: \"When I was Young in the Mountains,\" \"The Relatives Came,\" \"Night in the Country\" and \"Scarecrow.\"
