Overview
\"As the most visible symbol of Milwaukee and its assets, the mayor should take the lead in promoting Milwaukee in the international business arena,\" the report said. \"His participation in free trade advocacy and campaigns to encourage exports will be crucial to the success of local activities.\" [John O. Norquist] is particularly interested in attracting international flights, expanding Mitchell International Airport, encouraging local businesses to talk up the city overseas and improving coordination between agencies involved in international trade, [Devon F. Turner] said. She said Norquist has previously traveled to Europe twice as mayor to promote Milwaukee businesses, and that such efforts are crucial because mayors are highly respected in Europe.
