Overview
Their target, Islamic Jihad leader Mohammed Ayub Sidr, was wounded when two helicopter gunships opened up as his vehicle waited at traffic lights in Hebron on the West Bank. Relatives said the dad and Sidr were linked by marriage. The car was reduced to a charred ruin. Seven people were hurt altogether. Terror suspect Sidr, 26, is on Israel's wanted list - blamed for orchestrating two shootings in July and November which killed three civilians.
