Overview
Ada Gray, 66, died after she contracted gangrene, had her leg amputated and was then diagnosed with the superbug MRSA. The settlement marks the end of four years of agony for the family which began after Ada, from Commercial Road, Byker, contracted gangrene in her toe. A spokeswoman for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust said: \"A claim was brought by the family of Mrs Gray in respect of their concerns over treatment received at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
