Overview
A robbery suspect yesterday walked free from court after DNA experts matched his dandruff found inside an abandoned balaclava ( but could not prove he was at the scene of the crime. He was arrested more than a year later after 35 flecks of dandruff found inside the black balaclava, on the back seat of the getaway car, matched his DNA. Forensic scientist Sophie Carr told the court there was a one in a billion chance the dandruff was not [Brian Redman]'s, but she had also found trace of another person's DNA on the balaclava. She could not say who had worn the mask at the time of the robbery.
