Overview
[Mark Slack] has proposed a factory hog farm on about 60 hectares (150- acre) of land about 14 kilometres east of [TWEED-HUNGERFORD], in the heart of family farms operating since the 1800s. Slack appealed council's decision and won a ruling in Belleville's Superior Court ordering Tweed to reinstate the building permit and allow the operation to proceed. Village Reeve Doug Mumford told residents gathered at Tuesday's meeting that a second appeal by council would likely be a waste of time.
