Overview
IT WAS back in 1977 when I was working in Las Vegas. My career was burgeoning. I was doing all sorts of stuff -- appearing with Jerry Lewis on TV, that sort of thing. In the middle of all this the AFL got in touch with my agent and invited me to come to Melbourne to sing the new national anthem at the AFL Grand Final. This was pretty special for me, being a failed football star from Geelong. I write about that in my autobiography, The Adventures of [Barry Crocker] -- how I played with the Geelong thirds and wanted to follow in the footsteps of my football heroes.
