Overview
[BILL FINGER] was born in [Born Mackay] but the cane-farming family moved to Ekibin Road, near Ekibin Creek, after the farm was wiped out by a cyclone. Mr Finger had been apprenticed at the age of 14 to Toohey's signwriters but later would progress to the positions of head signwriter and foreman at Victor Day and Sons. \"Dad related to them,\" the Rev Finger said. \"He was not set apart from them, he respected them. Mum and Dad were like second parents to some of them.\"
