Yesterday there was an example of what Mr [Cowdery] would likely disparage as \"tabloid justice\" in this newspaper -- the report of Parramatta Bail Court Registrar Mariaelena Albu's decision to grant bail to alleged repeat child sex offender Graham Pollard. The facts are instructive. Pollard was on parole after serving two years in jail for the indecent assault if a five-year-old girl in 2003. On Saturday, he was arrested and charged with the indecent assault of an eight-year-old girl at Nowra, and unsurprisingly, police strenuously opposed bail.
