Overview
In perfect conditions on day two, University pace bowler Ashley Robertson struck early when he removed Lions opener Chris Reidy for a duck. From then on the Lions' three outstanding batsmen -- Rob Bartlett (73), skipper Brendan Joyce (60 not out) and David Plumpton (59 not out) dominated as their side cruised to victory. Joyce's knock took his aggregate for the season to 958, a club record. Amazingly, Plumpton finished just one run behind his skipper on 957, while Bartlett finished his outstanding summer, which included Victorian selection, with an aggregate of 851.
