Overview
Councilor at large Dennis Rosa said the ambulance service has generated enough money in the past to replace emergency vehicles. The money goes straight to the general fund, however, often scooped up by other departments in need. A private ambulance company, Medstar, is always on hand to take Leominster emergency calls along with any of the city's engines and ladder trucks, which are all equipped with defibrillators and necessary medical supplies. Some city councilors are also suggesting the department increase ambulance services in the city by moving to advanced life support (ALS).
