\"Thirty-one students left,\" Coleman Nee said. \"That's based mostly on the rumors that the school was closing. The rumors really took off after the school received $100,000 from the sisters of Notre Dame (in April 2005).\" While a drop in enrollment hurt the school, increasing debt - - a total of $1.1 million -- also played a factor in closing it down, Nee said. \"We've been in touch with the superintendent from the Worcester Dioceses' Catholic Schools office,\" Nee said. \"He said he'll do everything to help with transitioning. ... That just happened today.\"
