Overview
Mrs. Brooks was a native of Bedford, Ind.; a former resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., for 30 years; and had lived in DeFuniak Springs for the past three months. She was a member of Ocean City Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach. Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Littrell of DeFuniak Springs; Judith Pratt of North Vernon, Ind., and Lisa Madison of Fort Walton Beach; sons, Michael Brooks of North Vernon, and Kevin Brooks of Fort Walton Beach; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a native of Oak Grove, Fla., and a member of First Presbyterian Church in DeFuniak Springs. She had been a school teacher for many years, and was Clerk of the Circuit Court in Walton County, Fla. She was a member of the DeFuniak Springs Garden Club; past member of the board of directors of the Council on Aging; and past chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Walton County.
