Overview
Support and opposition were evenly divided in the latest poll. Thirty-one percent of the 809 voters surveyed by Mason-Dixon PoliticalMedia Research Inc. said they would vote for Amendment Two. Thirty-one percent said they would not. Spurred by petition drives for stricter spending caps, state lawmakers took action this spring. They drafted Amendment Two, with input from Florida TaxWatch Inc. and former leaders of the Tax and Budget Reform Commission, and put the measure on the ballot.
