Overview
\"I had a few too many putts, and that's what killed me,\" said [Caroline Powers], who finished eighth in the state as a freshman. \"[White's] a lot of fun to play with because it's nice to have somebody directly against you who's having a better round. That challenges you. I wanted to shoot [a 72] and it was kind of close until I had a couple three-putts.\" \"I know I could have played better but it's a definite improvement over last year,\" said [Emily Gedert], who competed here last year along with [Heather Jorgensen] and Sterling. \"We just want to play our game and finish the best we can.\" \"We felt if we finished in the middle of the pack that we'd be doing well,\" coach Bill Perry said. \"I don't expect the conditions to change too much [today] and I think the kids will have a better understanding of how to play through them. I was hoping for a little better outcome. I'd expect a better finish tomorrow.\"
