Overview
Following his resignation, Wilkinsburg Mayor Wilbert Young appointed [Thomas W. Proctor]'s wife, Lt. Michele Krempasky, to serve as acting police chief. Proctor, whose address is on a rural route outside Greensburg, is an 11-year police veteran, mostly with Wilkinsburg. He has been placed on paid administrative leave pending disposition of the case against him. During his tenure in Wilkinsburg, Proctor became a K-9 officer. He was largely responsible for helping raise money for corrective surgery for a police dog, Faro, which had been suffering from back problems common to German shepherds.
