Overview
The board last night tabled a motion by Director Colin Snyder to build a high school on land yet to be acquired, convert Emmaus High School to a junior high, and make Emmaus Junior High an elementary school. Snyder said his proposal is a low-cost compromise of the Blue Ribbon Task Force that formed nearly two years ago after directors tabled a previous plan that included the construction of a new high school. A task force subcommittee also recommended that a high school be built, along with an elementary building, and that other facilities be renovated. [Mary Lou Stefanko], who voted against tabling the motion with Augustus Martin and Ted Dobracki, said a vote to table the motion would be construed as an attempt to conceal her vote on the high school issue.
