[Susan Gallagher] said all Ameren field crews including 1,500 linemen were scheduled to work today. Truck trailers packed with poles, wire and conductors were on standby. Jim Kramper, a spokesman for the National Weather Service office in Weldon Spring, said the worst area of the ice storm probably extend as far east as St. Louis. The heaviest ice was expected in Washington, Mo., and OFallon, Mo., where accumulations could exceed an inch. Shirley Walls, a spokeswoman for Lambert Field, said American canceled all outbound flights and Southwest had canceled 25 inbound and 17 outbound flights. She said airport crews were working in 12- hour shifts to clear runways and taxiways.
