PHOTO; PVT. [Dennis Trest] Completes basic training AH: Rieger in Coast Guard Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Robert R. Rieger, son of Mary L. Jaeger of Ellicott City, reported for duty aboard the Coast Guard cutter Yocona, home-ported in Kodiak, Alaska. Seaman Rieger is a 1985 graduate of Mount Hebron High School. Fela is commended Marine Sgt. John Fela, son of Bertha A. Audit of Laurel, received a letter of appreciation for his professional performance of duties while assigned to Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Ariz. Sergeant Fela is a 1983 graduate of Hammond High School. Gaylor awarded medal Air Force Maj. Don K. Gaylor of Ellicott City was awarded the Air Medal while assigned to the 315th Airlift Wing at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. Major Gaylor was presented the medal for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Sprow receives award Navy Lt. Cmdr. Curt W. Sprow, a 1975 graduate of Howard High School, recently received the Navy Achievement Award. Commander Sprow was cited for superior performance of duty while serving aboard the amphibious transport dock, USS Cleveland, home-ported in San Diego. Gaither in infantry Marine Pfc. Michael F. Gaither, son of Roderick and Joann Gaither of Columbia, has completed work in the School of Infantry at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
