Overview
Although some designers such as Donna Karan and Louis dell'Olio for Anne Klein are pushing the kind of soft, pale colors you might find on the underside of a seashell or a pond pebble, several local retailers say their customers are seeking out the best of the brightest, as though color might ward off winter doldrums. Jan Ingwalson, owner and president of Jan's of Wayzata, says her clients aren't interested in barely perceptible colors; instead, they want \"a lot of pink, purple and kelly\" along with the old standbys, black and white. At Fawbush's in Calhoun Square, they're looking for little embellishments, whether on jackets or T-shirts, said sales associate Kris Hanson. Brightly patterned bomber jackets also are leading the pack in resort trends at Schlampps in Uptown Minneapolis, according to owner and buyer Lois Schlampp.
