Overview
The army accused [Mohammed Sidr], who escaped an Israeli helicopter strike in December, of masterminding shooting attacks in which 19 Israeli soldiers and civilians and two international observers in Hebron were killed and 83 people were wounded over the past two years. Security officials said Sidr was planning a car-bombing in Jerusalem when he was killed and had served as a contact with the Islamic Jihad leadership in Damascus, Syria.
