Overview
[Roy Hargrove]'s band established its agenda from the outset, hitting hard and fast on the aptly named \"Camaraderie,\" from the trumpeter's newest release, \"Nothing Serious.\" Following a noisy, explosive introductory passage from the entire band, Hargrove took flight with some of his most ferocious solos in an evening filled with them. He played like a man with something to prove, unleashing torrents of sound. Phenomenally fast scales, wide-open horn calls, brazen slides between pitches -- Hargrove did not lack for expressive techniques.
