\"We've hit some kind of pool of energy,\" says David Wistow, interpretive planner for the AGO. \"For a museum like ours, which tends to honour the work of dead people, especially white males ... this is a way to reach out to everybody.\" \"I gave myself a halo,\" [G. Paul Nicholson] says, expounding on his love of gold paint. \"Sometimes if I had a good painting, there's a little gold oasis around it. It's a little gold gem,\" he says. Charla Jones toronto star Art Gallery of Ontario curators David Wistow and [Gillian McIntyre] \"hit some kind of pool of energy\" with the \"In Your Face\" portraits.
